Seeing bark, bugs and lizards more clearly with contact lens

The ability to see is one which most people take for granted. The advances in technology have meant that more and more people are wearing contact lenses (Kontaktlinsen) instead of glasses. Many people who wear glasses either don’t like the look of them, or consider themselves getting old if they do finally give in and opt to wear glasses. It may surprise people to know that the first aid for vision was invented around the era 1000AD, the inventor of this particular aid is unknown. The aid itself was a glass sphere, this worked by placing the glass sphere upon the article or subject which needed to be read, the glass sphere then magnified the letters. The first eye glasses which were invented which were actually wearable, where invented by Salvino D’Armate in 1284, and they didn’t look far off what we wear today (considering it was 100’s and 100’s of years ago.

overlooked

Until this point it was just glasses which had been invented, in and around the year of 1752 eyewear designer James Ayscough cleverly came up with the invention of having tinted glass which could be clipped onto white glass, to fend off the glare from the sun. These were possibly the first sunglasses, although at the time they were invented for correcting vision and not for fending off the suns rays. In 1929 Edwin Land was the inventor who came up with a polarizing filter, and this was patented. In 1937 the Polaroid Corporation was founded by Edwin Land and he began to market his Polaroid sunglasses, he is also known for his part in Polaroid photography, remember the instant camera where the picture used to develop straight away, this too was Edwin Lands invention. Glasses have moved on since these times, and the availability of contact lenses have at last made it possible for people to take part in sports like swimming, diving and the more risky sports, such as jumping off a cliff with just a long piece of elastic tied round the foot. With glasses this would not have been possible, for they would have got in the way of having a good time, and most people cannot see without their glasses so taking them off would not have been an option.

The revolutionary new contact lens (Kontaktlinsen), Air Optix is a lens which is breathable so that the eyes don’t feel tired and sore at the end of the day. These are lenses which can be worn at night, and don’t stick to your eyes in the morning, which means you don’t have to worry about falling to sleep with lenses in. These lenses make it possible to visit hot climates and forests worldwide in search of bark, bugs, lizards and insects which are a little different. Animals such as the African Forest Elephant, The Bengal Tiger and the Jambu Fruit Dove. The Jambu fruit dove can be foujd in rainforests on the western Java and islands of Sumatra in Indonesia, they can also be found in Malaya and Thailand. The dove itself is a brightly coloured bird with a small head and orange or yellow beak, its eyes are coloured either brown or red and are located on either side of its head. The Orangutan is a popular animal for the kids to view in the zoo, but is even more fascinating in its home environment, this animal swings through the trees, and has been much likened to humans. The name Orangutan is appropriate because it means ‘man of the forest’, which is apt. Whatever the destination of choice contact lenses make travelling a whole new experience.
